Appointed as Main Contractor through selective tendering, Shaun Blaxley has carried out a number of projects of varying size and complexity for my practice. Our association commenced in 2001 with the extension and alterations of Plumtree Cottage, a sensitive Listed House for Mr & Mrs T Platt in Little Gaddesden, followed by a large first floor extension and rear extension /alterations at No3 The Lye (for Mr & Mrs Sheaf) and Barn Cottage (extension for Mr & Mrs A Archer) also at Little Gaddesden. He has also carried out a number of smaller projects in the area of Berkhamsted and Tring.
In all the projects undertaken, Mr Blaxley has always provided a hands on approach, involving himself from start to finish, taking on all site problems as challenges with a view to reaching acceptable solutions. He has a good rapport with his subcontractors, and the high quality of work produced by all under his control is a clear indication of his reputation. In following our designs, Mr Blaxley has always been helpful to clients and architect alike by providing possible alternatives for cost-saving purposes, and has on occasion sacrificed his profit margin to achieve the quality desired.
